What is rebirthing breathwork?
Rebirthing is a breathwork approach associated with conscious connected breathing: the inhalation and exhalation are linked in a continuous pattern. In Hebrew it is often called circular breathing. Facilitators may describe the practice in terms of self-exploration and emotional experience. The method does not promise a particular experience or medical result, and the pace and guidance vary between sessions.
Rebirthing, connected breathing and other methods
Breathwork is a broad category. A class in pranayama, shamanic breathing, slow breathing or conscious connected breathwork is not automatically a rebirthing class. Ask what the facilitator actually teaches. A retreat using “rebirth” to describe personal renewal also needs a clear method description before it can be treated as rebirthing breathwork.
